Steve Sanders
Steve Sanders is a lawyer in the Supreme Court and appellate litigation practice group of Mayer Brown LLP, based in Chicago. He has served as counsel to groups of university faculty filing as amici curiae in cases involving domestic partner benefits and equal marriage rights for same-sex couples. He previously worked as an administrator at Indiana University, where he developed and taught a course on Gay and Lesbian Politics and chaired the committee that steered domestic partner benefits to unanimous approval by IU's board of trustees.
Steve's writing has appeared in the New Republic Online, American Prospect Online, the Baltimore Sun, the Boston Globe, the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Sun-Times, and the Indianapolis Star. He has spoken on gay legal and political issues at colleges, law schools, and conferences around the country.
